xmlns:fb='http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml' Friday Night Wife: football
Four years ago I taught 2nd graders and had for five years. For now the Lord has me staying home with my babies. I am a believer in Jesus Christ. I have been married for 8 years to my best friend who just happens to be a football coach. We have four precious baby girls who keep us very busy. I love to spend time with family, craft, bake, cook, watch football, and whatever else comes up. I am hoping to start up a baking business with cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. I hope you enjoy reading about our life as much as I am enjoying blogging about it!

Friday Night Win!

It's midnight and I just got the girls in bed.  People ask me why I let my girls stay up later most nights...this is why!  So they can hang when we are at a game until 11:00!  Gonzo wouldn't say one things about me taking them home early from a game, but I would be so sad for them.  The best part of the game for the kids is when they get to go out on the field and run around!  The best part of the game for me is when I get to let Adda go run around!  The best part of the game for Gonzo is when he gets to see all of us out on the field!  We try really hard to teach them to be laid back and go with the flow.  You will see that with most of the coaches kids.
It felt like a real football game.  A little chilly, with a breeze.  It rained until about halftime.

Lot's of coloring in the coaches kid section!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am a sore looser!  It's a family trait passed down from my Nana, to my mom, and now to me.  Gonzo used to say that when he played football at HSU he could hear me over Coach Keeling (the head coach).  In fact Coach Keeling would tell me the same thing!  After a call tonight I said something to the referee (Who am I kidding, I didn't say it.  I yelled it!)  Adda repeated my statement!  She yelled, "That's garbage!"  She quickly followed that with, "Go Defense!"  This girl knows her defense!  After three overtimes we pulled it out tonight!  Yeah!!!!  Go Warriors!
Yeah for a WIN!  We will take them any way we can get em!

Oh, I also chopped my hair today!  Well, chopped it for me!  I cut 6 inches off my hair.  I had to do it.  It was driving me CRAZY!  I usually get it done three or four times a year when I go home to Lovington.  Sorry Donna Moore, I felt like I was cheating on you!!!!  Normally I will go home one last time before the football season starts and get it done then.  It didn't work out this year!  I couldn't wait until Christmas this time.
Here's the girls as I was headed over to leave them at my brother's house while I was getting my hair cut.  This is big for me!  I am sure some of you think I am crazy, but I just don't leave my girls.  For one things I have a best friend (Ella) who loves me with all her little bitty heart!  Also, we spend family time together as much as we can these days.

Here is my hair last night after I washed it.  It was so long!

Here is the after!  Don't mind the very awkward taking a picture of yourself in the mirror moment!  I feel like such a goof doing that!  I'll have to take another picture of it fixed better.  It was raining all day so it didn't look great!  I kind of wish I had cut it a little more!

All the Happenings!

It's been a few days since I posted anything on the blog.  I have had one million things going on and my head has been spinning around and around trying to get it all done.  I always feel like I am going to be super organized and be able to really sit back and visit and hang out when family comes but it never really works out that way.  That's alright!  I look forward to it every time.  I look forward to the craziness and my head spinning around and around.

Here is my list!  Don't mind the scribbles from Adda B. and her pencil!  I might have added a few  items that I already completed to make myself feel better about marking through things!  It's done and it's family time!

We had our first football game last night!  It was HOT, MUGGY, CROWDED, and A BEATING!  I will have to find some things to take to the game for Adda to keep her occupied for four hours in the stands!  It's an adjustment every year!  I tried some coloring and she last for about 20 minutes with that.  Suggestions would be appreciate!!!  It wasn't a great game!  But I think I only saw about 10 plays with all of  my handling I was doing with kids.  By halftime Ella was only in a diaper and bloomers because she was sooo hot.  Adda's hair was completely wet.  I was speaking in a really high tone because my Spanks were soaking up all my sweat and squeezing my insides.  Some may think I am crazy for wearing Spanks in the heat but let me tell you those babies are a necessity after my two kiddos lived in my belly for 9 months!  Suck it in please, and thank you!!!

Gonzo!  My best friend, I love this guy!  I get as nervous as he does before games.  Well, maybe not!  He has been know to puke before a game.  In Texas you win, or your fired!  That would make me puke too!

The sweating is starting to happen quickly!  Adda is wishing she were in her panties ONLY!

Check out the wet hair!  Oh, and she got to chew gum for the first time!  After swallowing it twice, I told her she could try again next time.  The second time was better than the first, but she swallowed it when I said she could have a few skittles.  She said, gulp "I'm ready for skittles!"

Too bad we lost, but so glad to see our Daddy!  Love you Babe!

The family reunion is this weekend.  Most everyone came in yesterday and we all hung out before the game.  The rest of the family is on their way as we speak.  The food is ready and the cakes are decorated. Ill take more pictures tonight and post later.  I am looking forward to loving on my family!  Such a blessing to all get together once a year!  I wish it could be more but a lot of planning goes into getting everyone here this time every year!

I finished a little project I was working on for Adda.  I made her a bow holder.  Most people with a three year old would have already filled a bow holder by now.  My girl just recently (as in a week before her 3rd birthday) got enough hair to hold a ponytail and bow.  What?!!!  That's how we roll!

Here it is!  Almost of all of these bows came from Erin (a friend of mine, whose husband is a coach).  Her daughter Kendall had outgrown them and she passed them down.  I need to make one for Ella now!  Those little bows need to be on one for her.  They are too small for Adda.

Last but not least!  The man is here to fix my oven!!!!  He is so nice, so I feel a little bad about being sassy to the people about someone getting out here sooner.

Guess what!!!!!!  He just told me he can't fix it today.  (Que the rolling of the eyes, and bad thoughts rolling through my mind.  Not towards this guy but towards someone.  I not sure who yet, but I am not happy with someone.)  He replaced three separate parts and it still is not fixed.  He told me blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and that he would have to get back to me about another time for he and another technician to come out with the new part.  OH MY GOSH!  I just don't even know what to say!  So, on that note I am going to say goodbye to you and to the nice many who attempted to fix my oven!

AAAAHHHH!!!!

And so it begins...

Last night we went to First Event at Martin.  They fill the gyms with booths from all the different clubs, and sports.  It's a chance for them to sell gear for their sport or hand out information about their club.  Every gym and hallway is packed with people.  They also have a huge pep rally in the big gym afterwards.  They introduce all the cheerleaders, dancers, volleyball players, and football players.  The band plays and the crowd yells (well the seniors do most of the yelling).  There are chanting competitions between the classes.  The poor freshman are basically kicked out every year.  I guess that's part of being a freshman!  We look forward to going every year.  Adda enjoys the loud pep rally!  I do too!  These are not the same kind I grew up going to at LHS.  When a school has 3,400 plus students you know it's gonna get a little loud and crazy!  It gets me fired up for the season.  I love football, and football season!  I can smell it in the air!  Literally, there is something about what is smells like during this time of year.  To me, that smell is football!

Here are the girls at the pep rally!  This was actually before it started.

Daddy and his girls!  This was Ella's first pep rally!  She was pretty somber through it all.  No tears, just checked it all out!  In the pictures she is staring at the pom poms that girls are holding right in front of her.  She was mesmerized!

Oh, and on a side note!  Adda had on panties!  I made sure before we walked out the door that we did an undergarment check on everyone!  We all passed!!!!

Blog Name

This is my friend Kristen!  We have a pretty deep history!  Let me tell you the short version of our story.  When we all (by all I mean pretty much the whole coaching staff from Kaufman came together to Martin) loaded up and moved to Arlington I taught second grade at Williams Elementary.  There was this really tall drink of water who was starting her first year of teaching in the forth grade at Williams.  One day we both had to go to a training together after school and happened to sit together.  She was funny, and spunky, and easy to talk to.  I started quizzing her about herself trying to decide if she would be a good fit for Bob (one of the single coaches on the staff, who Gonzo played college ball with).  During the training I got up and called Gonzo to tell the guys about this girl who I thought needed to meet Bob.  They put me on speaker phone in the office and before I could finish describing her, they looked her up on the Williams website.  They met, started dating, and I think we (Erin and I) fell in love with her before Bob did.  Six years later they are married, and one of our best friends.  Tate and Jackson (the kiddos I keep) are their two precious boys and they are like family to us.  So glad we meet, and totally didn't pay attention during that Thinking Maps training!

This is us at her bachelorette party.  I was huge pregnant and didn't stay out long with them.
I've had lots of people tell me they think the name of the blog is so cute!  I have to say that I did not think of this on my own.  This is where Kristen comes in.  She is super creative and witty.  She came up with the blog name in about .2 seconds.  We were talking on the phone about the blog and I told her that we were having trouble thinking of a name for it.  I told her I wanted it to be something about baking/family/cooking/party planning/football.  Without even thinking about it she started spouting off all these really fantastic names.  I text a few of them to my family and we all unanimously decided on Friday Night Wife!  Thanks Kristen for being so creative!!!
This is Erin (another coaches wife), Kristen and I after a football game.  Love these girls.  Only one of us had a child then.  Now between the three of us there are six kiddos!

Here we are at the wedding.  So, so, so pregnant!  I was four weeks from due date.  So glad they worked out!

This is by baby shower for Adda.  About two weeks after Kristen and Bob got married.

I am so blessed to have such good friends in my life,  Friends you know you will have for a lifetime.  At some point we won't all be coaching together, but we will always stay in touch.  Thanks again Kristen for thinking of a super clever blog name!

Where's your Panties??!!!

I am sure you're all wondering what in the world I am going to tell you after you read the title of this blog.  Well its' quite funny!  Anyone who has multiple children, or even one child for that matter will completely understand this post.

This morning Martin had a scrimmage.  It was the first scrimmage of the season.  So of course we were going to be there to watch in all our new Martin gear.  I got my rear out of bed at 7:30 to make sure we were all ready, full of breakfast, and at the field by 10:00.  Anyone who knows our family well, knows that 7:30 is EARLY for us!  My girls don't wake up until 10:00 most days.  It is a complete beating to get everyone up and out the door when we have to wake up that early.  So, of course we were running late!  I was rushing Adda out the door at 10:20.  You know, your nice the first few times you ask them to put down the handful of toys they want to take and then you start yelling it.  I know I'm not the only Mom that looses her cool after the 50th time of asking.

Here's the play by play:
We pulled into the parking spot at the school at 10:25.  I was sweating like I had been running drills on the field.  My Spanks were shrinking with all the sweat that was happening.  I got the girls out and we walked towards the field.  I got all the way up there and realized I had forgotten Erin's (one of the coaches wives) Martin gear that a friend of mine embroidered for her.  I was supposed to bring it so her kids could wear their new shirts.  SO... I asked my friends Kristen and Erin to watch the girls and I ran home.  When I say ran I mean literally I ran to my car that was half a mile away from the field in the parking lot.  You can imagine the amount of heavy breathing that was going on in my car on the way home.  This girl doesn't run!  I should but I don't!  It's the asthma, Ha!!!!  I was almost home and Kristen called me!  For a second I thought, oh no something has happened to one of the girls.  Then I answered the phone and she was laughing hysterically!  She said, "Are you still at your house?"  I said, "No, I'm not there yet.  Why?"  She said, "Well, Adda is shooting a beaver!"  I thought, she meant like not sitting like a lady in her little dress and showing her panties.  No, no, no!  That's not what she meant.  She meant Adda was literally shooting a beaver, like she had no underwear on!!!  In my RUSH to get everyone out the door I forgot to put panties on Adda.  So there she was at the football game almost nude!  Listen, it's not uncommon for nudity to happen in our house, but this was not planned, at all.  So I grabbed her underoos and headed back up to the field.  By the time I got there, pulled up Adda's underwear, and got situated in our seat there was about 15 minutes left in the game.  Those 15 minutes are a blur!  What's new!  Well. this football season should be interesting with TWO little ones on my hip.  GO WARRIORS!
